Inheriting the Spirit of Red Crag, Shouldering the Mission of the Times

In order to understand our Party's history better, and to inspire our students to courageously shoulder the responsibilities of the times, the 34th seminar was organized on May 6, 2023, jointly held by Chongqing Municipal Center for the Popularization of Humanities and Social Sciences Knowledge, School of Marxism, and the Red Crag Reading Club of Chongqing University. This seminar, under the theme "Inheriting the Spirit of Red Crag, Shouldering the Mission of the Times", encompassed three key segments: exploring the Red Crag Exhibition Hall online, sharing insights from reading and watching experiences, and conducting a knowledge quiz. Li Ruoxi, a graduate student enrolled in 2022, serves as the host of this seminar.



During the virtual tour of the Red Crag Exhibition Hall, the host guided the students through an online tour of the virtual exhibit, allowing them to virtually explore places like Bai Gongguan and Zha Zi Cave. All students delved into the history of the "Eight Suggestions in Prison" at the Red Crag, paying homage to heroic deeds of the revolutionary predecessors and gaining insights into their unwavering spirit. All participants collectively immersed themselves in excerpts from various literary works and films, such as Red Crag, Fire in the Earth, and Living Forever in Burning Flames, inspired by party members  resolute revolutionary faith even being put in jail.



The participants then engaged in lively discussions and actively shared their learning experiences. Student Deng Xiuwen delved into the creation background and process of Red Crag, stating, "Creating a masterpiece requires a considerable amount of time and effort, much like polishing a thesis repeatedly, in order to produce a piece that can stand the test of scrutiny from both readers and history." Hu Yueling commented on Fire in the Earth, expressing, "It portrays the noble spirit of revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the country and the people. I also aspire to retain my original intentions and persevere in my endeavors".


Finally, a quiz was conducted and 16 multi-choice questions were presented, encompassing a wide range of topics, which were selected from the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Party history, and books of Red Crag, Fire in the Earth, and Living Forever in Burning Flames,etc. Our students active participation demonstrated their widely known knowledge with enthusiastic academic atmosphere.



This seminar created a platform for extensive communication of Party history among our graduate students, fostering their patriotic fervor and determination. Following the event, the students unanimously expressed their commitment to reading classic literature, strengthening their expertise, thereby standing up for their communist belief and setting sail on new journey of the communist causes with the zeal of youth.
